Alfa Romeo have become the first team to hit the track with their 2023 challenger.
The team revealed a video on Friday morning of their C43 leaving the garage for the first time as they completed a shakedown in Barcelona.
Valtteri Bottas had the honour of being the first to drive the new car around the Spanish track, which has traditionally been the testing ground of choice for teams over the years.
Alfa Romeo unveiled their car earlier this week, revealing a striking red and black livery.
The team also showed off their actual contender for the 2023 season, with the car taking inspirations from other team’s 2022 challengers such as Red Bull.
Speaking about the C43, Jan Monchaux, Technical Director, said: “This car is an evolution of last year’s, reflecting the new regulations and introducing major changes in the areas where we found improvements to be needed.
“I hope it’s going to be quicker than the successful car we had last year, that’s what matters most, and more reliable as well: we have put a lot of effort in this direction. Now, it’s time to get to the track and see how this car performs. I’m happy to get back to racing and I’m confident there will be much more to come from us soon.”
