Ferrari have taken the covers off its new challenger for the 2023 season in an event that saw the car hit the track for the first time.

The SF-23 was revealed at the Scuderia’s Fiorano test facility, with the car getting out on circuit for a short shakedown immediately after.

Charles Leclerc was first to drive the car before team-mate Carlos Sainz got a few laps under his belt.

Ferrari mounted its first F1 title challenge in 2022 since 2018 after making the most of the regulations overhaul, with the Scuderia starting the season strong.

But a mix of driver errors as well as strategy and reliability issues hindered the team, with them losing out to Red Bull as the team made its car lighter over the year.

The team will be looking to bounce back in 2023 and kicked off their season by unveiling a striking livery.

Whilst the red and black theme remains, the car now features the Ferrari logo on the rear wing whilst there are more shades of black around the car.

Speaking about the season ahead, Leclerc said: “I’m really, really looking forward to this new car, I think we’ve done a great job working on this and trying to address the weaknesses that there was on this car [the 2022 one].

“Hopefully it will be better but the goal is to win clearly.

“The feeling of winning is what motivates me, it’s what motivates all of the team too. I’m really looking forward to getting back into the car and to try and win that championship.”
